Pinewood Contracting started with a pretty simple idea: renovating your home shouldn’t be harder than it needs to be.

Having worked in the carpentry and renovation industry for 5+ years, as well as having completed an advanced diploma in building renovation technology, Riley, Co-founder & Lead General Contractor identified many areas of opportunity where projects could be managed better, and saw ways to improve communication between contractors and clients.

We’ve seen contractors who skimped on materials or building code to save money, and worked on projects where the client entered the agreement not knowing where the end price would land, with costs spiralling out of control. We’ve seen projects left unfinished, and horrendous site-prep and setup which led to completely preventable damages.

All of the pain points that a renovation project usually brings to mind, we hope to solve with founding Pinewood Contracting.

We’re a small but growing renovation company based in Toronto, built by two cousins who grew up in the city. It can be scary to place trust in a stranger to not only do work on your house, but to exist in your space with you, and make you feel comfortable.

We’re trying to build a business around the way we’d want to be treated ourselves: fair pricing, good communication, quality work, and no unnecessary bullshit.

We’re here to build good spaces, do right by the people we work with, and hopefully have them call us the next time they have a project in mind.
